Mark H. McKinsey is Chairman, CEO of Bluegrass Capital, an investment-banking firm. Bluegrass Capital assists clients in both acquiring and divesting businesses. The firm’s client portfolio includes both domestic and foreign companies, and range in size from small privately owned businesses to large multi-national companies. McKinsey has led over 75 successful financial turnarounds of manufacturing companies, over 100 acquisitions and more than 50 divestitures. Mr. McKinsey has over forty years’ executive level experience in general management, administration, marketing, and finance. His background includes strategic business planning, and functional responsibilities in sales, manufacturing, and finance with particular emphasis on operational turnarounds, divestitures and acquisitions, and corporate development. He is active in training executives in the art of M&A, divestitures and corporate development. Mr. McKinsey has served as a corporate officer, director, and advisor to Boards of Directors, including Hamilton Cosco, Dictaphone Corporation, US Filter, WR Grace, Riverside Furniture, Underwriters’ Laboratories, Infonational, Metropolitan Greeting Cards, Dolly Madison Industries, Aetna Bearing and others. Mr. McKinsey consults through his own companies ― Bluegrass Capital and McKinsey Corporation ― specializing in investment banking, corporate development, operational & financial restructuring, Mergers and Acquisitions and training in Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures for executives. He recently managed the successful acquisition of Veritech Microwave for SDL, Inc., a transaction valued at more than $600 million, and consulted with General Electric Capital on the successful turnaround of Riverside, $110 million Furniture Manufacturer. Mr. McKinsey continued as a Director and Consultant to Riverside and GE Capital. Mr. McKinsey was also Chairman, President, and CEO of Dolly Madison Industries (DMI), successfully restructuring the Company and leading it in several successful acquisitions. Before DMI, he was Group Vice President of both US Filter and Dictaphone, where he successfully led turnarounds of multi-division businesses, led several successful acquisitions, and several divestitures. Prior to these assignments, Mr. McKinsey owned his own manufacturing businesses, was Chief Financial Officer at Cosco, and headed acquisitions for WR Grace, where he led the successful acquisition of DuBois Chemical Co. and the divestiture of Cosden Petroleum, as Grace’s Manager of General Development. Over the past ten years, Mr. McKinsey has taught the process of M&A, valuation of businesses, corporate divestitures, operational due diligence, synergy and post-merger integration to more than 5,000 executives. Mr. McKinsey has served as trustee to not-for-profit institutions such as The Chautauqua Library in Jamestown, New York and L’Ecole Francais in Chicago, The Steel Founders’ Association, The Association of Furniture Manufacturers, and The Southern Furniture Manufacturers Association. Mr. McKinsey received his Bachelor of Science at University of Oklahoma, his MBA from Harvard Business School, and served in the US Navy on active duty as a line officer on the USS Allen M. Sumner (DD-692) and as a pilot. He is married and has three sons. |
